Mouse Keyboard Freezing

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi

I seem to be having a reoccurring problem with y mouse and keyboard
Every so often the mouse and keyboard will freeze
It can be 5 minutes or a couple of hours
When I reboot it starts of Ok and then the same issue occurs
If I am watching a film the film audio still seems to be running
The mouse and Keyboard are both USB hard wired

It is almost like the every couple of minutes the computer is running a background check or programme in the background whereby if the mouse doesn't respond it freezes
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

would be be a conflict in programs or lack of ram?

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

This does not include the power supply you will need to post the make and model

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Lets also try a clean boot and see if the issue persist.

It is a gigabyte H61M-S2V-B3 with an intel 6 series/C200 series chipset
if that helps

Is there a reason that you can not post the speccy information?

What was the result of the Clean Boot?
Sorry I didn't manage do it I will try and download it now
I did try changing my keyboard which didn't make any difference, but1 thing I did try was changing the USB ports for the mouse keyboard
This seems to have worked for a bit and then the same issue happens again mouse keyboard freezing so am thinking it must be a software issue
The computer is at least 6 years old

reboot into Safe Mode and try that.
next, create a new login account and log in as that new user and see if that helps.
also try running the rig with only one RAM stick, than swapping out that one for another one if no luck.

have you scanned for malware on that PC?
malwarebytes, adaware, etc?
and do some maintenance via Glary Disk Cleaner or CCleaner.
