I just built my first pc and everything is working great except for the mic. I have tried updating driver and anything microsoft says needs to be updated. I have gotten it to be able to regester sound and have used voice recorder to verify that it works. once I get into Call of Duty and attempt to talk with other people no one can hear me. I will start going back through everything to see what else i could be it something else will go wrong. Now I am getting nothing but feed back out of the headset. I have 2 headsets and nether of them will work. I am just at a lose at this point I have gone through every YouTube video I can find and have nothing.

Solved Mic not working on newly build pc!!

Make sure the microphone is set in game to the correct one, sometimes (Default Device) doesn't give you the proper device.
If you have a headset with a single cord, make sure the port you are plugging it into is a combination mic/headphone port.
Is it plugged into the ports on the front of the computer, have you checked your front panel connectors?
Let's get some more information:
Download and run speccy.
Once you have ran speccy, follow the instructions to upload a snapshot found here.
Please list your power supply unit
If you have a headset with a single cord, make sure the port you are plugging it into is a combination mic/headphone port.

I have tried all of the different input options in game and nothing works. When I do the audio test in game it shows that the mic is picking up the sound but other players can not hear me even though they/myself is not muted. The case I have does require a combination plug and I have a splitter for my single plug headset. Also I have used both from and rear plugs on the pc and I get the same results.
power supply is a seasonic gx-750
Remove the splitter and plug in only the headphone connector, does that help?
I see you have Sonic Suite installed, this ships default with Asus boards and only seemed to cause me issues, you could try deleting it if you wish to try it.
+1 for the model of the headset, do you have the necessary drivers?
Did you install all of your drivers in the necessary order? (I would install the chipset and graphics driver before connecting the computer to the internet.)
I see you have Sonic Suite installed, this ships default with Asus boards and only seemed to cause me issues, you could try deleting it if you wish to try it.

I am currently using a RIG 400 headset but I was thinking about getting a wireless headset to see if going that route would bypass this issue for now and yes I have tried just going into the mic jack and still does not work. As for the drivers yes I have installed them not necessarily in the right order and it was connected to the internet before I updated anything because I got the drivers from ASUS.
I'd uninstall the Sonic Studio/Sonic Suite before buying anything.
To uninstall:
Click the windows icon, select Settings > Apps, and then type in sonic and see what pops up. You may also need to type Sonic Suite into the search bar and uninstall through that instead of the Windows apps menu.
Once you have done this, go back to the main menu of the settings and select System > Sound > Manage sound devices. Disable Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer (it cannot be deleted, it will automatically reinstall).
If this doesn't solve it you can reinstall the Sonic Suite after we solve this, but I find it to be just bloatware from personal experience.

Can you post a new speccy so I can get a look at what your computer is running on now?
RIG400 has a 4 pole 3.5mm jack.
so needs to plug into a headset port rather than a headphone port.
headphone ports are 3 pole as they don't have a mic.
if you don't have a 4 pole port, the splitter should convert your RIG400 cable into two - one that goes into the Mic (pink) port and the other into the Speaker (green) port on the back of the PC.
what is the make/model of your splitter, or show us a picture.
I've always found USB headsets the best as it bypasses all this fuss over splitters and ports.
