Hello all.

I'm having some trouble with my memory. I have 16GB of RAM (2x8GB sticks) but for some reason, I'm only able to use half of that within Windows? I've listed some key information down below and if anyone is able to help me out, that would be amazing!

Information:
  • Motherboard only has two lanes which both sticks are occupying.
  • BIOS picks up both sticks of DDR4 RAM.
  • Windows can see that there is 16GB, but only 8GB is usable.
  • MSCONFIG has maximum memory unchecked.

I did what I didn't want to do and that was individually check each stick on RAM on it's own and the result was that my PC wouldn't turn on with the 2nd stick? I'm not 100% sure if that's correct so any answers would be great.

Hello mvpcurtis,

With both sticks in the MB how much RAM is shown to be Hardware reserved.

Was the second stick of RAM tried on its own in the both slots on the MB.
