Solved Low end gaming pc build - need help!

Hello everyone, i'm new on here, allthough I plan on using this site alot and helping members when I understand how pc's work and stuff...
I recently decided to quit console gaming and try pc gaming, and my dad agreed to pay up to ~800$ on a gaming pc (just the parts, no monitor etc.)
I wanted to know if this build is "compatible" and if it will fit in the case I bought.:LOL:
So, here's the parts, I will try to include screenshots.

Im happy to read any comments, even if you're calling me an idiot :p, my main concern is that my pc will die really fast or not work at all. Am I forgetting any parts needed to build this computer, or is everything ok? Also, if you know any better parts for a cheaper price, or about the same price, please tell me.

Hello sirprize10,

Couple of pointers for you, they are not criticisms btw (y)

The motherboard and CPU are not compatible, for that MB you need a CPU like the one here

The brand of PSU is junk, the GPU that you have chosen only need a good quality 400W PSU that has 27 amps or more on the +12V rail, EVGA 500W here has 40 amps.

You have not included a DVD drive, you need one to install Windows, LG - GH24NSD1 DVD/CD Writer

Question, you are shown to be in France but want to purchase from OutletPC in the US, something seems off, are you in France or the US.

Your latest MB and CPU are a step in the backwards direction in that they are dated technology.

I live in France, but I was born in the us and am moving back to the us this summer so I'm getting the parts there.

If you will not be purchasing the parts for a while you are best to wait on putting a list together that is set in stone, prices change daily and what may be a good buy one day could be an even better buy the next, a couple of links for you Logical Increments and PCPartPicker have a go at putting your own list together then post the PCPartPicker link here and we can take a look.

It's been a whole week, and I changed my mind. I'm thinking of spending about 500$ more than my chosen budget, with the sole purpouse of playing games at maximum graphics.
So, here's my new build, ive checked and i'm sure I have most/all of the parts, which are compatible. I've gotten the build off a website devoted to creating budget builds, but i've made a few changements.
For the case, I wanted something with style, for a cheap price and with included led's. I chose the Thermaltake Versa C21 RGB LED Lighting SPCC ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Computer Chassis CA-1G8-00M1WN-00
For the prosessor, I changed to intel, because it went well with my motherboard. Intel I5
Now for the motherboard, I chose the ASUS PRIME Z270-P LGA1151 DDR4 HDMI DVI M.2 USB 3.0 Z270 ATX Motherboard PRIME Z270-P
For the Optical drive, I took the Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black) like you reccomended.
For the Power, I took the EVGA 700 B1, 80+ Bronze 700W, 3 Year Warranty, Power Supply 100-B1-0700-K1, as that was the reccomended power for a similar build.
For the RAM, I chose the Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Single DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) DIMM 288-Pin - BLS8G4D240FSE (Red), as I thought it was better than the ddr4 basic RAM given.
The next part, the graphics card, I thought it was exceptional, and the price was still very expensive.EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition, 8GB GDDR5, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) 08G-P4-5173-KR
Then for the hard drive, I took the Seagate 2TB BarraCuda SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive (ST2000DM006) because of the price, and I needed atleast 1 tb for games and 1tb for just in case.

Hopefully this build is compatible, i'd really like to use it. The graphics card dosen't include a backplate, whereas most models do. Is it really nessiscary or is it just for looks as other people have suggested?
Thank you for your advice with this build, as i'm completely new to PC gaming.

I see that you are getting some conflicting advice on the forum here

Always a good idea to have a second opinion on life in general but too many voices going around inside your head is not so clever :(

I suggested you have a go at putting a build together on PCPartPickers as the site tells you what is and what is not compatible, saves time + you do not have to purchase the parts from any of the sites suggested if you can get them cheaper elsewhere.

Two glaring points that I noticed from your list of parts that was not picked up on, your choice of case has very poor case cooling as standard and you have selected a single stick of 8GB RAM, if that stick fails you will not be able to use the computer until the RAM is replaced, if starting out with only 8GB of RAM you are much better to go with 2X4GB sticks.

To reiterate what I suggested in my reply #9;

Stick to using PCPartPicker until you have your list of parts set in stone in your own mind then post the link here and one of us will work with you on it, you will not get any churlish remarks about purchasing Windows, a DVD drive or about your choice of CPU on this forum, only guidance offered with the best intentions (y)

FWIW: The stock R5 1600 CPU got better benchmark scores than the x version of the same CPU, see here

Ive gotten better advice from here, I just wanted a second opinion on a site I know well about gaming and I know theyre quite geeky XD. Ive actually upped my budget and I actually like the case design, I canadd a better fan inside later. I also changed to get 4 4gb sticks of ram. Sorry for going elsewhere, I just wanted to make sure with different communities of the different parts being used.

You going elsewhere is fine when not troubleshooting a computer problem that you have already asked for and received assistance from any other forum, computer builds are slightly different but ask yourself this, is it actually helpful and informative someone saying that their AMD CPU is better than the i5 CPU that you would like to include in your build, I suspect that I already know your answer.

The links that I provided will cost you nothing to use but will ultimately save you some cash, as advised already, do your own list of parts and then ask us to take a look, I would also suggest that use the Part List Opinions Wanted forum for fellow builders like yourself, we all had to start somewhere but unfortunately some people that post on forums think that they know it all :(

I actually made a pretty good intel i7 build with your advice. Ill make a pcpartpicker list.
