Liquid Cooler fan keeps randomly getting loud very often

Title is a bit shocking but I'll try to elaborate.

The liquid cooler I'm using is a "Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 CPU Liquid Cooler - Dual Dissipation Pump and 120 mm Air Balance Fan" and my motherboard is "Gigabyte Aorus AMD x570 PRO Motherboard"

What's essentially happening is the Cooler fan(s) are just stupidly loud all the time when I'm doing something, at times I can just be doing nothing kind of like now and the fan keeps picking up in loudness, and when I say loud I mean originally it sounded like a motor bike engine revving, what I did was I took the back case fan off and flipped the cpu coolers fan onto the wall instead, leaving the other side without the fan, so essentially the liquid cooler now has 1 fan and not 2, was it a good idea? no idea, but it essentially almost halfed the stupidly loud fan noise to be a lot more bareable, but it still annoys me that its still incredibly loud compared to my near 8 year old PC that I just replaced from building this new one, baring it mind it also just had a normal type of fan, no liquid cooling fan.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? an imcompatibility with the motherboard perhaps? I didn't even think fans could get this loud, I tried recording a video but my phone isn't picking up on the sound well enough, could be that my phone is quite old as well, but still, I'm very tempted to just buy my 3rd liquid cooler fan but this time a completely different fan/brand altogether, either that or just buy a non-liquid cooler and hope theres no insanely loud fan like this one, any help appreciated, thanks.
 
there should be no CPU fan as that is where the water pump is, and the only other fan (as far as the water cooling system goes) is on the radiator - is this your setup?
is that the fan making the noise or is it coming from the chassis fans or GPU fans?
use a soft bristled brush to push into the fan blades to stop them to see which is the noise maker.

take a pic of your setup for us.
 
May of been a bit of bad describing on my half, but yeah by CPU fan I mean the fan for the cooler it self, took a picture fairly close to the cooler and such with the radiator.

The radiator only has the one fan that's on the case wall with the radiator attached to it, when building we did have the coolers fan attatched to the otherside of the radiator as well but as you can see that isn't there anymore as removing it managed to almost half the insane loud sound it was making when the fans started to spin up faster.

I also noticed that the loudness of the fans spinning also makes that little light on the cooler actually go brighter, when it goes to its quitest the light dims a fair bit, so I would hazard a guess that its the fan attached to the radiator thats connected to the liquid cooling thats creating the sound, I don't think its the GPU as its loud even when none of the 2 GPU fans are spinning.

righto, that pics explains it.
no fan on the CPU physically, but yeah, the 'cpu' fan is on the radiator attached to the water pump which is on the CPU.

so where do you plug the radiator fans into?
you should use the processor fan header on the mobo but it sounds like this is giving bad readings.
so try plug that fan into any other fan header on the mobo, like the chassis header, or FAN1 or FAN2 or whatever that mobo has.
you could even get a adapter and connect the fan straight to a molex connector.

the fan would only spin as per the temp sensor you plug it into, but all we are trying to do is get away from the CPU temp sensor which seems to be unreliable.
as long as the radiator has water flowing through it and the vanes have an airflow over them, you'll be OK.
 
Thanks for the replies so far, not gonna lie I completely forgot to check the thread till now just from being busy with stuff, I appreciate your time responding either way.

So on the first picture, at the bottom right, the slot with "CPU-Fan" has the fan that's on the wall of the case that has the radiator on it, whereas the slot with "CPU-Opt" has a wire coming directly from the CPU cooler connecting onto CPU-Opt, and then lastly theres something plugged into "Sys_Fan2.

Essentially it was a friend of mine that did the building for me whereas I sat there and watched in some attempt to learn, I do want to try taking the radiator fan out and putting it into any of the others, though I'm not sure what the differences in each plugin slot is and if I'll cause any damage or not by just plugging them into what ever slot it will happily go into.
 
i think it would be explain things better if we had a shot of how your system is currently cabled, rather then a shot of the bare, unused motherboard.
but yes, that shot does show the fan headers nicely.
I'm just not sure of this cable you talk about coming from CPU_opt.

in theory, the radiator fan can get its power from any one of those mobo fan headers.
the header used just determines the temperature read. so worst case, your radiator fan that is cooling the CPU may actually get its readings and therefore its speed from say the chassis temp sensor - but ball park speaking, there will still be plenty of speed in the radiator fan to allow enough airflow over the radiator vanes to cool the water passing through.
 
Ok so I managed to take a few pictures, first one obviously being the inside of the case, if you need a more specific picture I'll try and get it, I've just made an attempt to get a picture of all the wires plugged into something, apart from the 1 under the gpu which isn't showing much on its own anyway.

I thought I'd take a look at the fan speed and something is rather weird, the first one here is the cpu-opt, I'm quite dumb with this so bare with me, but I changed the fan speed to max for a moment to see how loud it would get and it wasn't even half the loudness of the radiator fan which is plugged into cpu_fan, also baring in mind its on 1406 and sounds a a lot quiter than the cpu_fan, if you see on the second screenshot of cpu_fan its resting on around 1285, I turn it onto max and it goes onto around 2000 rpm which is near the insane loudness it spends a lot of its time at when gaming and watching youtube/twitch etc, or simply when I try to open up a new program or a new chrome page etc.

I was reading up some stuff about fan plugins and learnt a little bit about these fan plugs, and also read that someone said they should be around 700-900 rpm or something but yet mine is clearly sat on 1200 when I'm in the darn bios, I'm beginning to think the liquid cooling unit is just screwed, but then again that's why I'm asking here because I'm clueless.

I did also try playing about with switching the fan plugs about putting them onto different slots and annoyingly the loudness of that 1 fan that's connected to the radiator is still horribly loud and driving me spare

from you first picture, it would appear (as you have said) that the radiator fan is in CPU_FAN and the water pump is in CPU_OPT.
my mobo is Gigabyte, but it looks like your ASUS BIOS is very similar, so in that last shot, change the CPU_FAN control mode to manual and then you should be able to set the fan speed yourself.
I'd have to reboot my rig into BIOS to double check that then I'd lose this thread and our BIOS's aren't the same anyways.
but your CPU temp is way down, as you'd expect from a water cooler and running the fan at those RPM's.

from memory, I can;t tell it the actual speed to run at, be I think it gave me levels, like low, medium and high - or similar.
