Solved Lightning strike and protection

three weeks ago there was a lightning strike next door. It tool out my computer, monitor, printer, stereo and phone ;system. All been replaced. Apparently surge came in on cable lines, since four cable boxes were also fried. My query, any suggestions for protection against this? (If this isn't the best sub-forum, maybe someone will move it?)

I have a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS that has proven itself time and time again :) Most PCs nowadays use what's known as a PFC PSU (Power Factor Correction) that when used with a non-PFC compliant UPS will cause the computer to shut down.

The UPS in question will automatically shut down the PC after X minutes that you specify that the power has been off, which is super handy when you're not home and the power shuts off. :)
