Hi All, I have an old lenovo laptop (T60) running windows xp core duo cpu, 80gb hdd, etc etc
My question is, can i put a copy of windows 7 home premium on this machine and will it work ?
Is it just a matter of formatting the drive, then installing the os, or would it be more complicated than that ?
Thanks in advance(y) cheers stupo

Ok, thanks again, got nothing to lose,
it will only act as a spare machine to access internet etc
incase of disaster on main machine.
Will give it a go, cheers.

Hello Stupo,
While I won't say you can't run Windows 7 on your old Levono T60 it may not be the best experience. First you will only be able to run the 32bit version. Also you will need to have the full 4gig of ram that your laptop takes. You will also have to make sure the BIOS is updated to the latest and the motherboard chipset drivers will run under Windows 7.

Hi all, thanks for all the input, this machine is now sorted, running like a dream.
It has 4gb ram, but only 3 useable, everything else seems fine.
Not sure about the bios version, but all working fine, so dont want to mess with
it, incase it goes pear shaped.
Dont know where or cannot find self solved button, so one of the mods may mark as such
thanks again stupo(y)
