laptop running very slow

yes..i am still trying to run the next step..it is a bit tired when the system is running very slow..maybe there is a lot of background running programs that I don't know how to disable it..thanks for your advice.

I'm still waiting to see if booting the PC into Safe Mode (hit F8 like a crazy person while the PC starts) shows any improvement in speed.
to me, this will verify if it is just background Windows process and programs running in 'normal mode' that are slowing you down, or if the PC ingeneral has greater issues, like the hot battery and the high temp processor.
