Laptop powers on but doesn't boot/load

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hello all,

My laptop has been having issues over the last two weeks. The laptop power light comes on, but nothing else seems to move. I don't hear anything firing internally, and the monitor stays off. The only thing that seems to come on are the backlit keyboard lights. And those are turned off in my settings, so obviously it's not loading those. I have a massive ton of random errors built up, but I can't make heads or tails of most of them. And none feel like they apply to me.

I should add that once it is going everything seems to work fine. It generally takes 5ish times to start up.

Sounds like a flakey hard drive.
Listing some of the errors may help too.
When you do get it going, if goes ok?
Do you have backups, if not, do one while the sun shines.
What’s the age?
Have you ran any maintenance, like checking the drive for errors?, checking the system for corruption?

The hard drive is about a year old. It's a ssd.
Once running I haven't had an issue at all. I've ran avg, malwarebytes, kapersky, cc cleaner, and regular microsoft checks as well as memtest...none of those failed or came back with anything.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the notebook, what version of Windows (7/8.1 or 10) you are running + what anti virus protection do you normally use.

I'm sorry it's been a few days. Crazy at work, and with how bad the computer is at home I haven't messed with it. It's an ASUS Rog GL703VD I believe on the VD. I use windows 10, and generally avg, malwarebytes, and lately kapersky. I am running the scans now.

To add what has been stated here are some things that may help them diagnosing the issue.

Have you made any changes to the BIOS.

Does this happen in safe mode or clean boot.

How big is your HDD and how much free space is there.

You have backed up you data in case the HDD is failing.

You stated that you have used CCleaner did you do the registry cleaning.

Run a check disk using the /r switch to check for bad sectors on the HDD. Using an elevated command prompt.

chkdsk /f

To post the results for the Check Disk

Press Windows Key + X
Select Event Viewer
On the left expand the Windows Log folder
Now Select Applications (may take it a few to load)
In the middle looking under Source scroll down the list looking for Wininit
Click on that and on the far right click on Copy then Copy Details as Text

Now in this thread just paste the information
Right click with the mouse and select paste
or
Press the Ctrl Key + V

Lets get a speccy report

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Yes, I ran the registery cleaner but after the issue was started not before for quite a while. I also have not made any changes to the BIOS. I have no clue what I'm doing in that so don't want to mess anything up. Speccy wouldn't publish at the time. It is saying there is a problem connecting to the server, so I will try that again later. I did save it as a txt file that I will upload here though.
