Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this, but I've been having some problems with my PC lately and I was wondering if I could get some help on what steps to take to figure out how to fix it.
The most apparent issue is that my computer is laggy. Most of my activity is video games, video game-related activities, and your normal internet usage like YouTube and reddit. I have a hard time playing video games because of the lag I get while playing and the jumps in FPS (It usually stays around 22-28, jumps as high as it can go, down to as low as it can go). The load times are pretty long too. My computer used to run these games just fine. Sometimes it seems to have good days/good hours where it runs alright. It doesn't seem to matter if I have things running in the background, but I always make sure I only have the essentials running to do what I'm doing (Discord + Battle.net + Overwatch, for example) but it lags and jumps anyways.
I was thinking maybe I just needed to do a clean reinstall of my operating system, so I did reinstall Windows 10 about a week ago. The problems still seems to be here, along with a problem of my computer freezing. My computer has froze a few times since the reinstall. One time it froze right after turning my computer on and logging in, another time I was just watching YouTube and clicked on a link and it froze. I also got a blue screen recently, but that has also happened once or twice before reinstalling Windows.
Could this be a hardware issue? If it is, I wouldn't even know where to begin.
Some information:
OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Motherboard: MSI model# MS-7693
CPU: AMD FX 6300 Six-Core Processor
8 GB of RAM
My main drive is a SSD, 250GB I think &
My secondary drive is a 1TB hard drive
