Solved Is this GPU noise normal ?

Hi guys,

So I just got an RX 6750 XT and it makes this really weird and loud kind of metalic noise. You can hear it in the linked video at around 16 secondes.
I wanted to know if this sound is normal or if I should return the card.

Heres the link :

Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

g'day gorno and welcome to the forum. :)

all I could catch was the occasional noise from what I can only assume was your constant moving of the camera.
apart from that, there was a slight humming which could either be my actual speakers or your fan's air flow static noise.

you might like to mount the camera somewhere, make no background noises and repost, a better video if you can.
otherwise, it all sounded normal.

the only thing I will suggest is clean the fans properly and make sure they are clear of obstacles.

Did notice that there is a slight wobble on the fan that is above the display card yet that could be light refraction.

EDIT: Make and model of the PSU.

GPUs are known to emit a high pitched 'whine' when under load, this is called coil whine and is considered completely normal, this is what it sounds like to me.

I'm with Rustys though, a good system blowout will ensure there's no dust or debris making it worse.

to me that could be something rattling.
sounds like a vibration somewhere, easy test, as the noise happens, try touching things, mainly where metal is touching metal.
or even just tilt the chassis to the side - if the noise goes away, you have two metal pieces not quiet tight enough.
check your screws, drive trays, CD in the unit, anything that could vibrate.

Do not forget to check the PSU as well that could be loose and or the fan could be causing this.

I agree with what the others have stated.

Is the system sitting level?

Like I have stated before stop the fans individually does the noise stop?

Can not tell what is above the CPU look like it needs cleaning. Other than that, and blow the dust out of the PSU (most forget that) the system looks clean.

Thanks for all the tips, I tried everything you guys mentionned, but couldnt find anything that would stop the noise. I tried removing the 6750 and putting back my old card and the noise stopped. So I returned the card today. Even the tech guy at the store couldnt find or ear anything on his test bench. Very weird. Still, thanks alot to everyone !
