I’ve built my first PC 3 months ago and I now I am wondering if there are any problems with it after there was a massive drop in FPS in game destiny 2. After I restarted PC the problem seemed to go away, however I’ve asked a friend for an advice. We have tried several things such as scanning for viruses, but nothing showed up. When I launched the game after the restart, I saw that the FPS stayed at around 45-55 on the Ultra settings, while my friend’s was around 100. My components are better than his thus this what made me wonder that there is a problem.
My components:
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Desktop Memory F4-3200C16D-16GVGB.

Welcome to PCHF Alex,

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

You have mutiple AVs installed which will cause untold issues, additional warning regarding anything related to Iobit, you will not see anything from them endorsed on any reputable forum;

Windows Defender

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

Having more than one AV installed on your computer is bad, it will slow down the computer, cause internet connection problems and leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out as they fight for resources.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

You can uninstall Iobit in the Control Panel but should you have any problems let us know Please create a new system restore point before making any changes.

McAfee product removal tool (MCPR) here

Once any other AV has been correctly uninstalled, check to see if Windows Defender has auto enabled and allow it to update and carry out a full scan of your computer.

Tip
If using a computer and not a mobile phone, please avoid adding multiple posts while waiting for us to reply to your last, edit your last post to include anything that you wish to add, this will ensure nothing gets overlooked which can sometimes happen if a thread has more than one page, it avoids filling up folks inbox and last but not least it amounts to bumping your thread which puts folk to the bottom of any reply list.

See attachment below;

You need to see how things go for now.

Q: Why has Windows not been installed on the SSD but instead has been installed on the slower HDD.

Got an early start so will be going offline shortly.
