Solved iPhone works but PC won't recognize it and it won't charge

Thought I maybe had to make an update of some sort when all of a sudden the laptop wouldn't recognize it. Then found out it won't
charge when hooked to a regular USB charger. Tried 2 different cables that have always worked before. Tried blowing out the cable
port and made sure the cable contacts are clean, still no luck.

Really appreciate any tips or suggestions or ideas on what's wrong.

Simple solution. Went to Apple iPhone support and noted a post about charging difficulties
that suggested cleaning out the charge port. I had blown it out but when I got a magnifier
and a strong light I saw a little debris of some type in there. I manually picked that out with
a pin and now it works! Lesson learned.
