My son cleaned out the Acer laptop to factory settings and put Linux Mint on it. I put in a PW and turned it on. I looked around and then closed down. Now the PW I put in is not working. Acer refuses to help. I have no idea how to solve this issue. Anyone know how to do it??? I hope there is help for me. Thx.

Quite by accident, I got into the computer PW correct. I did it without expecting it to happen. Now I need to get that PW out of Linux Mint. Arrgh, I am just trying to get to know the product. I have no idea what to do to either change the PW and write it down or take it out altogether. Any thoughts on how to do this?????
Thanks in advance

Just to confirm that you can access the system?

Which version of Mint?

Is it always smart to have a password to access the account for security.

Not to sure if you can remove it or just change it.

Went through my Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon I can only change the password not remove it.

Doing further research will let you know when I find something and or if.
