I have Windows 8 and I am experiencing a problem when trying to download and install Paint.net. It demands 8.1 and I have Windows 8. I know that there are previous versions and I need one. Could you please advise me where and how I can find one. I have been looking but have not been able to find one that will work for me. Thank you very much.

Why not use the Paint that came with Windows 8.1?

What is the error and or issue that you are running into?

Have you downloaded the file?

Have you installed the file?

Is there any error messages?

Where are you downloading it from?

The Paint that came with Windows is too limited for the kind of work I need to do. Will not complete installation because I do not have the right version of windows (I have 8.0) and yet it claims that you can install it on windows 7. Yes, I have downloaded the file many times, but it never completes the installation. I will check on buying a newer version of windows. Is Windows 10 easy to install for a noob? Thank you Rusty.

You should of already been upgraded to 8.1. Here are a couple of links that you can read through.

Just with any update like this ALWAYS backup you personal data just as a precaution.

Windows 10 is as easy to install like any other operating system.
