My default browser is Chrome, but one particular website will only work with IE. Is there a way to create a shortcut to this page on the desktop that will open in IE? I created one, but it opens in Chrome. I don't want to change the default browser if I don't have to.

Solved IE shortcut on desktop

Yes there is a way to create a short cut to the desk that works.
Open File Explorer
Open the Directory Program Files
Now open the directory Internet Explorer
From here right click on iexplorer.exe
Select Create Shortcut and click YES to place on desktop
Check to make sure it did created the short cut on the Desktop. if it is there then open the site in Internet Explorer
Right Click in the Address Bar and click Select All (this way we make sure to get the entire address).
Right Click and Select Copy
Minimize Internet Explorer
Right Click on the Internet Explorer desktop icon and select Properties
Under the ShortCut Tab where it states Target go to the end of the info of the box
Press space the put a " (quote) right click and select Paste then " (quote)
Click Apply
Click OK
The line should basicaly look like this ( I used you threads link and it worked after reboots no issues).

I know this thread is closed but if @whitelighter would like to know an easy way to pin a site to the desktop with IE, or any other browser simply navigate to the site you wish to create a shortcut to, left click as per the picture below and drag it to the desktop to create a shortcut, which will open the site in any browser you created the shortcut in. Or if you drag it to the taskbar it will pin it there. Easy Peasy.
