OneDrive. After I did that I still saw OneDrive whenever I connected the phone to the pc! Then I noticed that if I left clicked on the start button, OneDrive was still on the list of item/programs. So I deleted from the list. However, OneDrive did NOT go away!!

After all of that I decided that since I couldn't uninstall OneDrive, I'll learn how to deal with it.

Everything seemed to be working okay after that. I would transfer my photos from my phone to OneDrive, which then I would "Import" them to the "Pictures" folder. Then I would move those pictures to a second HD in my pc. Then I could delete the photos on OneDrive if I wanted too & they wouldn't deleted.

However, today I found out that OneDrive has moved a folder called "ControlCenter4" (where that ControlCenter4 folder was before I have no idea)! Now whenever I SCAN something it goes into that folder & that folder is in the "Pictures" folder & the jpeg file goes onto OneDrive!

My question is (after all of my rambling). How call I stop OneDrive from messing with my SCANNED items?????

I have Googled the question, but so far what is written on Google does NOT compute.

If I can't get OneDrive to work the way that want, then I guess I'll need to make it go away!!!!

Thanks for your reply.

I am having a problem with the link below:

I have added comments in the information below:

Completely Uninstall OneDrive using Command Prompt

While you can remove or uninstall the Microsoft OneDrive app via Settings, you can also use the Command Prompt. But before you uninstall OneDrive, you have to stop the process. You can simply click on Exit in OneDrive context menu that comes up when you click the icon in System Tray.

Sorry but you lost me! I can’t find “EXIT” anywhere. In fact, I couldn’t find the “context menu”—nor could I find “the icon in System Tray” PLEASE HELP!

*****************************************************************************************************************************

You can also go to the Task Manager and right-click on OneDrive Process to “Kill it”.

Sorry again! I went to “Task Manager” but I could not see OneDrive anywhere (I assume that I needed to open OneDrive to see it in the Task Manager—I did have OneDrive opened)
*****************************************************************************************************************************

Or you can use the Taskkill command to kill the process. Sorry once again! I could not get “Taskkill” to open no matter how hard I tried!

Do you think that because I uninstalled OneDrive from my pc & also disabled OneDrive on my Galaxy S22 phone that doing that has caused a problem?

At this point I don’t see OneDrive in “Programs and Features” (I uninstalled it). I also removed OneDrive from the list of programs that I see when I click on the windows icon-lower lift corner.

They only way that I can see OneDrive is: C-drive>users>(my name)>OneDrive

You can follow these steps, if you are unable to do so then reinstall one drive so that you can do the following, after you disable synchronize and stop it from starting then you can uninstall it.

By choosing to disable OneDrive only at start-up, you keep the possibility to manually start it to save photos or share documents with another Windows installation or a smartphone.
Right-click on the icon for OneDrive that appears in the notification area and then click on "Settings" :
Has the "Settings" tab, uncheck the option "automatically Launch OneDrive when I open a Windows session" :

If you choose to completely disable OneDrive, it will be déinstallé and you will no longer be possible to synchronize the files of the PC with the online storage space.
Always through the right-click on the icon of OneDrive, navigate to the settings :
At the bottom, click on "Delete the link to the PC" :
The configuration window of OneDrive appears as though you need to configure it. Close :

I think that I will need to reinstall OneDrive! Where do I need to go in order to do that?

The reason that I feel that I will need to reinstall is because all of your suggestions are not working.
When I right-click on the icon of OneDrive I get nothing! If I left-click I this:

I can get into "Settings" in OneDrive but I don't see "automatically Launch OneDrive when I open a Windows session" or "Delete the link to the PC"!

I'm confused. Is installing OneDrive the same as "reinstalling" it? So sorry that I am confused!

You said that I needed to "reinstall" OneDrive so I could disable synchronize & stop it from starting then I can uninstall it. I could not find a reinstall for OneDrive on the "app buster".

You can follow these steps, if you are unable to do so then reinstall one drive so that you can do the following, after you disable synchronize and stop it from starting then you can uninstall it.

Do I just "install" OneDrive? I am not able to uninstall OneDrive per you last post.

Here is a quote from the link that you posted above.

I guess that I am either doing it wrong or it doesn't work! If I go to "Command Prompt" a black screen pops up. What do I do with that black screen?

Okay-I found the words/figures that I needed to put on the CMD window.

  • Press WinKey+R to bring up the Run dialog
  • Type cmd to bring up the command prompt window
  • Type the following to kill the OneDrive process: TASKKILL /f /im OneDrive.exe
  • To uninstall the OneDrive from Windows 10, issue the following commands
    • If you are on a 32-bit system, type: %systemroot%\System32\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall
    • If you run a 64-bit version, type: %systemroot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall
But this is what I see after that:

taskill(press spacebar)/f(press spacebar)/im(press spacebar) Onedrive.exe
I tried that but it didn't work. I noticed that the word taskill only had one "k"
I tried it with two "k" and it still didn't work. Don't know what to do at this point????!!!!

Here are the results:

At one point I figured that I would uninstall One Drive & use another program to transfer my photos. I then went to "Programs and Features" in my pc & I uninstalled OneDrive. After I did that I still saw OneDrive whenever I connected the phone to the pc! Then I noticed that if I left clicked on the start button, OneDrive was still on the list of item/programs. So I deleted it from the list. However, OneDrive still did NOT go away!!

Do you think that the reason I am seeing this is because I have uninstalled OneDrive a while back when I was trying to delete OneDrive? I do not want to use OneDrive--I just need it to go away-please!

Okay I found "OneDrive.exe" and I clicked on it. A box popped up & it seemed to be installing it?

I now see "OneDrive" in the start menu.

However, I do not see One Drive in the "Programs and Features"

Also, I don't see anything different when I open OneDrive!

So what do I do now?

So I went through the "set up" for OneDrive my I didn't see anywhere that I could download OneDrive.

I even tried using a different email address and after doing this & that I got to a page that they wanted me to pay for OneDrive!!!

I don't see any change in OneDrive when I open it up!

The only thing that is different is that I now have the OneDrive icon in my start menu. When I click on that icon this is what pops up
