Hi, I have a problem with the motherboard , With 8 gb ram 4gb 2X ram starts perfectly but when I install 16 gb ram 4gb 4x ram does not work starts 5 seconds and stops and start doing this to infinity .
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-H97-HD3 has the latest BIOS ....
Ram : Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Kit

Welcome to PCHF Persiball,

Try removing the original RAM and then test the new RAM one stick at a time, if both work individually you should then try them together in the same slots that you had the original RAM in and see how that goes.

Heading off to work shortly but will check back later.

I tried all the RAM and the PC starts with each one .
May be the problem with bios settings , Or the slot is broken?
I now have 12 GB RAM

Thanks for the comprehensive update (y)

If the second slot has been individually tested with the four sticks of RAM and the computer will not boot with any of them then the second slot does look to have problems.

What I suggest, remove the CMOS battery from the MB, blowing out the slot with some canned compressed air, replace the CMOS battery and then test the second slot again by individually testing each stick in the slot, please do not have any other RAM inserted in the other slots when you do this test, it is the only way that we can be sure that the second slot does not have a problem with one of the four sticks of RAM.

Misunderstanding Persiball as you should replace the original CMOS battery into the MB, not purchase a new CMOS battery, the idea of removing and then replacing the CMOS battery into the MB is to clear any bad settings that there may have been in the BIOS.

You are welcome :)

Hi ,
Thanks a lot for the help, I tried a slot and it works.
I put two RAM and it worked , I put 3 and it worked with 4 no ,I tried to put one, several combinations at a time .

I tried it as a combination, if it start it put another RAM, when it did not go I removed and tried another

Weird but now the 16 GB 4GB RAM x4 goes well .
