Hello Forum, so I played a game having a youtube vid play in the background. When i wanted to open a new tab in google chrome, it did not load.
I brushed it aside and kept playng for an hour, when i clicked the windows button to shut down the pc, it would not shut down, i tried switching user and anything else, nothing worked, so I just kept holding the power button till it shut off.
Today after work I started my notebook again and realized after several tests, that all the normal run on bootup programs start, but seemingly can not connect to the internet, any other program i start like 10 seconds after booting, just will not open up, and the desktop, where you have all the buttons you double click to start something, crashes and it just becomes a bluescreen without the text that is usually on it. I instantly started google chrome on one reboot and was able to use the tabs that were open, but opening another tab would not work, whatever site i tried to load, would not work. So i believe that after a few seconds, windows itself seems to kinda crash in the sense that nothing can be executed anymore, that is not currently running. I had a playlist run in one tab and kept it running till a new video needed to load, and that worked. As you can probably tell I really dont know a lot about this, so any help would be appreciated.
I have never seen this happen in about 20 years of using pcs/notebooks/laptops and am at a loss, what is going on and is it fixable? Is this hardware or software?
Is the notebook lost? I handed this to a friend who usually helps me with this stuff and he is clueless, i am strapped for cash currently so I am hoping it can be fixed without professional paid help. Big thanks in advance.
