HP Pavilion - new Battery doesn't charge

Hey,
so I forgot to turn off my Laptop (HP Pavilion 15-eg0355ng) overnight and it completely discharged the battery. That happened before but I could just plug the AC adapter in, let it charge for a minute and then just turn it on normaly. This time that didn't work. when I connected the AC adapter the charge-indicator LED didn't turn red as usual, when I tried turning it on that same LED blinked white 3 times. I searched for that online and found that thats probably a really dead battery (makes sense, right). So I ordered a new battery and replaced the old one. The result of that was that the Laptop now turns back on but (stil) doesn't charge. I checked the AC adapter (one of those universal ones) and found that I had to do some fixing on that one for it to work properly. But that didn't solve my problem. I checked the AC adapter on another laptop and it works. So the AC adapter is fine. I measured the battery voltage which was good. I checked that I get charging voltage to the connector on the mainboard which was there.
I also tried putting the old battery back in after I fixed the AC adapter but that didn't charge neither.
I also ran the HP self diagnosis tool after I installed the new battery which told me the battery was fine but no AC adapter was connected (which I of course connected).

List of what happened:
-Laptop discharged
-replaced dead Battery with new one
-confirmed the new Battery works
-confirmed the AC adapter works
-confirmed I'm getting charging voltage to the Mainboard
-HP Tool says battery is good but AC adapter not connected

Now I dont really know what could be the fault here. Maybe its the charge port in the laptop (which I could easiely replace) but I dont really believe that since I'm getting voltage to the connector on the Mainboard and the charge indicator LED worked after I let the battery discharge.

Hope somebody has an idea what could be wrong.

Just because you just bought the battery doesn't mean it is new.
Even unused doesn't mean new if the battery has been in the packaging, on the shelf, for two years.
New is only new based on the manufacturing date - what is your battery's manufactured date? (should be on a sticker on the battery)

Lithium batteries oxidise as soon as they are minted, so even though they are advertised as 'never been used' they could still be as useless at holding charge as a ten year old one that's been in constant use.

Where was the battery purchased from?
Was it a genuine HP battery?
And the charger is not genuine either?
What is the charger's volts and milli-amps value? (on the sticker on the charger next to Output)
And what is the laptops expected volts and milli-amps (also on the sticker on the laptop next to Input)

I bought the battery off of Amazon. It's not a genuine HP battery and there's no Date on it. But it's deffinitly better then the old one. I measured the voltage of both old and new. New one had 11,6V and the old one had 0,005V. I could also tell the new one is working and better then the old one because the Laptop was able to boot and Windows showed around 60% charge. And tbh the question here isn't really if the new battery is an amaizing product or in mint condition. It's wworking and shows that there must be something wrong with the charging.
Regarding the charger, it's a Hama brand universal charger that has been working with this Laptop for a good year now.

Laptop Input is 19,5V and 2,31A
Charger Output is 19V and 3,42A

And the laptop runs fine with the battery removed?

I've seen laptop manufacturers do all sorts of weird stuff with their batteries to force you to get originals, much like printer companies do to get you to only use their toners. They put a chip in the battery charging board, so maybe you are in that rabbit hole.

If the laptop works with the charger plugged in while the unit has no battery installed should indicate the charger. and port, are OK.

I think you missunderstood me a bit. The laptop started working again after I installed the new battery. The charger I use is functional too. I tested that on another laptop. What's not working is charging me laptop with either of the batteries installed. So just for clearification on what the laptop does in different situations:
1. Old battery, no charger --> No LEDs; not booting
2. Old battery, with charger --> LEDs off; charge-indicator LED blinks white 3 times when pressing power button; not booting; charge indicator LED expected to glow red since charger is plugged in
3. New battery, no charger --> normal behavior; boots into Windows
4. New battery, with charger --> boots into Windows; charge-indicator LED is off (constant red LED expected)
5. No battery, with charger --> LEDs off; charge-indicator LED blinks white 3 times when pressing power button; not booting; charge indicator LED expected to glow red since charger is plugged in

I hope that clearifies some things. That's also why my suspicion lies on the charging circuit or maybe the charge port. But I'm unsure about the charge port since I ssem to get power through it. I was thinking about replacing the charge port to see if it's that. Do you think I should try that?

That would be a logical step to try, not going to know until you do it so why not?
I'm still thinking the new battery is causing some sort of issue in all this.

How are you charging the battery if you are getting the red LED or no charging LED? Or does it charge regardless?
