Hi, sometimes I have work to do which needs fast internet speed, and the wifi is shared with 2 other friends who mostly use only social media, so I would like to know if it is possible to limit the speed to them, maybe 1mbps to one and 2 mbps to the other so I can get as fast speed as possible when I need it?

PS My internet speed is 20mbps and my router is Ptplink.

ohh it seems I can control the settings through bandwidth control. But the things I am confused about are:

1) dhcp client list, the ip address of the wifi devices, does it change or not?
2) can we write 1 -100000 in the egress and ingress bandwidth?
3) the port range is 1 - 65535 right?

4 and the main one - bandwidth control is only for the wifi devices right? the ethernet controlled or my main one will still use the 20mbps full right? Also, suppose I limit ingress bandwidth to 2 mbps for 1 device and 1 mbps for the other device, if when they download, do they take 3 mbps out of my 20mbps? is the minimum ingress amount set up what they will use at the minimum?

Thank you.

not sure how giving those users a static IP will throttle their bandwidth.
but whatever you do needs to be done at the modem/router level, and menus on those things vary between make/model.
what model is your TP-Link?

I mean I can limit their access bandwidth through the bandwidth control, and giving those users static ip means I don't have to keep on changing the control rule in the bandwidth option in the router admin panel.
My TP-Link model is TL-WR841N

Before contemplating limiting anyone's internet access the most important question to ask is who is paying for the service, you could be in a shared dorm at university for example.

I am paying for it, just sharing it with my friends at home, most of the times even I don't use much internet, but when I play the ping can spike, so I want to limit the speed during those times.
