I expect this is a question to which the answer is obvious but would someone tell me how to get rid of the Feedback tabs (some horizontal, some vertical) that seem to come up on more and more websites. They cover data on the screen which makes it difficult to read what is there.

How to Get Rid of "Feedback" Tab on Websites

Do you see a Feedback tab here on PCHF? I don't have any code that'll produce that, so a Feedback tab doesn't exist.

The feedback scripts are becoming a large part of the more commercialized websites. The scripts are written in many forms such as JAVA, PHP, HTML...ect. I'm afraid they are a part of the whole site. If you disable the scripting on most websites you lose most of the content as well. Besides, many of these sites are boilerplate templates. Many of the site owners couldn't code to disable the feature if they wanted to. Nobody codes a website any more.
@jmarket - What User101 is referring to is those nasty little popup tabs that you find on other websites that give you a form for feedback or chat. They usually pop out when you arrive on a webpage blocking content. Some have a way to close them. Others don't.
Some may be M'Lady but most are coded into the website. Most popups that are blocked are those using code that is sourced from off site.

Post a screen shots of a few different sites so we can see exactly see what you see and can best assist you.
Forgive me, I never meant to imply that the task was impossible. With the proper tools and know how it is possible but it is also difficult. With the right proxy software and knowledge of the different codes used to inject the feedback tabs and popups it should be simple enough. Is the effort worth it? That would be up to you. I have not written code in years so it would take me time and lots of research and at my age I am grateful to be breathing the next morning.
I was going to mention uBlockOrigin. I've blocked things that covered what I wanted to read at websites.
Click on the uBlockOrigin shield and then the icon that looks like a medicine dropper.
You move the cursor over the page until what you want blocked is highlighed. Click your mouse then move to the lower right box and click on Create. The annoying item is now gone.
If you make a mistake, undo what you picked and try again.
