I am plagued by undeletable lines in my edition of MS Word 2007. This happens when I press Return on the keyboard after typing a series of short-dashes to form a separation line on a given page of text. This action instantly converts the row of dashes into a thin continous line, which short of machine-gunning the wretched thing, remains resolutely unbanishable by any means within my (limited) knowledge. I have done the usual things - gone into Page Borders and selected 'None' next to the illustrated line in Style. Result: zilch. I've also tried Autocorrect Options in Word Options and unticked Border Lines. Again: zilch.
Somehow, though, I don't think I'm on the right tracks here. I don't think this is a page border thing at all, but a pagination fault in Word itself. Also, it might be worth mentioning that my edition of Word 2007 sits on top of Windows 10 - which suggests that there could be any number of devils lurking in the details here, though again I could be wrong. Whatever, this problem is making word-processing a complete pain at present. So any help or advice would be extremely welcome. Thanks in advance.
