Hi.

I am using a Windows LifeCam Cinema Camera for a long time without any trouble. I've recently upgraded my PC and now whenever I make a video call using the default Skype app the camera's picture gets darker. It's still usable but it's just annoying that everyone sees me as a silhouette. When I test the video in Skype settings it looks fine and bright. I've tried calling different people but it's always the same.

I've been to the official Microsoft page for the camera but there are no new driver downloads for windows 10. I currently have driver version: 5.20.102.0 installed

Another forum said that you can use the win7 drivers but when I tried installing them the manager said this device was already up to date.

Is this Windows 10 just messing with an old device or is there something else I can do to try and fix it?

my specs are:
> Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS
> Asus Prime z270m-Plus m-atx MoBo
> Intel Core i7 7700 CPU
>16GB DDR4 RAM
> Asus ROG Strix Aura GTX1080 graphics card

Any help would be great, cheers

I've tried installing the camera software from the CD that came with it. It says it's incompatible with this version of windows. So I can't access the camera's settings unless I use the Skype app or the default windows "camera" app. neither of which change anything. It looks like I'll just have to get a newer camera that's compatible with Win10 Pro.

Go to your control panel, click on trouble shooting, find configuring a device and see if this helps. If the view is not in classic view go to the right of the window (top) and click view by and click one of the icon settings. Also once you are there if this setting doesn't work to the left click on view all and find program compatibility trouble shooter.

nothing worked. I think I'll just have to get a new camera. :(
