Hello , sorry if I posted in the wrong place. But I need your help here , Maybe someone knows , look what the problem is...

I got a new internet 1000 mbps, and now , my network adapter cant handle it (actually I don't have one , is the one from the motherboard). And here I want your help to tell me if I can put a network adapter that can handle 1000mbps on this motherboard.

From what I read is said something about 100mbps , but I think that is from the adapter that is from the motherboard , I just want to know , if it can handle a new network adapter , sorry but I am newbie at pc , sorry to bother or even if I posted in the wrong tab. I appreciate your help and peace out.

Hi balasoiudaniel and welcome to PCHF :)

If the motherboard specifies 100Mbps, that means it can only handle 100 Mbps on the ethernet port. Are you referring to a PCI-e network adapter? What exactly is the adapter?

Can you also post more info about your PC, such as RAM, make and model, CPU, etc?

I need to know the exact make and model of the network adapter you're asking about.

If you're asking if your motherboard can handle it, then no. Your motherboard is too old to support a fast enough bus that can sustain 1Gbps bandwidth. You can get a network card that can support 1Gbps, but there's no guarantee that you'll get that speed.

I don't want to buy one , I just want to know if it can handle , thanks for the quick answer.

You can get a card, but you may not be able to reach 1Gbps speed. Remember, it's all based on ISP, location, and hardware. You have decent hardware, but depending on your ISP and location, you may not see 1Gbps. :)

I understand man , look , I thank you so much for your time , I wasn't gonna buy any network adapter , I just wanted to know if it is worth to buy one for this mother board , but I guess not. I will just get a Wi-Fi thing and use this internet for my phone and my ps4 , cuz I guess those can handle that internet , my phone is a s7 , so yeah man , I really appreciate your time wasted with me , And sorry for this. Anyway , I will might try to put a network adapter for 1000mbps for this motherboard. And again , appreciated the time wasted with me. Peace out and take care people.
