Downloaded Auslogics Defrag and it snuck in Boost Speed with it. Malwarebytes keeps flagging it as PUP and quarantining it. I went to Control Program to delete it but, though it is listed in Control Program, Control Program says it's not there and won't uninstall it. I don't want to have to go an Acronis backup and restore it (I'll lose today's emails). How do I get rid of this BoostSpeed program? The folder is there with lots of EXE files - see attached.

Thank you for whatever help you can give me. I don't want to do anything more with my machine today as if I have to do a restore I'll lose even more things.

Thank you, vger, for posting that. However, what's in that youtube is different that what I have:
(1) Control Panel won't do the uninstall as it says it's not there, even though it lists it.
(2) Entering "Auslogics" in Computer "Search" box does nothing. I can't get it to execute the search (pressing "Enter" does nothing).
(3) There are three or four more Registry entries with Auslogics than just the one the demo shows. Frankly, I'm afraid to fool around with all of these.
I thought about just deleting the whole Boost folder but I'm sure that iwil just make it even worse. I hate to have to do an Acronis restore as that will, besides losing my emails, take over three hours. But that may be my only choice.

Again, thank you for trying to help me.

I downloaded the uninstall tool from the youtube demo. When I ran it Malwarebytes came again that that Boostspeed is PUP and trying to run. I told it to allow it to run. Then the uninstall tool failed - please see attached. It looks I have no choice but to do the restore and lose the emails. This will teach me to think three times before downloading software, even from a "known" vendor.

Good idea. Even though it failed to uninstall Boost,I let the uninstall tool do a scan. It found a lot of things with Auslogics. Then I let it delete all of the registry entries as well as all folders that it found. I'm going to restart the machine and see (1) if it comes up and (2) if Malwarebytes is still finding Boost.

Didn't work. Malwarebyetes still telling me Boost is there. It doesn't give me the full path so I can't look for it. Maybe I'll try Superantispyware full scan. It sometimes finds PUPs

I deleted the whole Auslogics folder (with subfolders), restarted the machine and the folders came back!! How can that be once I deleted them?? True, I didn't clear the re-cycle bin but still - how can those folders get moved back to the Program Files (X86) folder??

OK - I just checked the recycle bin and they are still there!!. So how does a new copy of them wind up in the Prgrams Files (X86) folder???

Sorry if I sound desperate but I am.

I tried re-installing Auslogics and then doing the uninstall. It said it removed everything but it did not - I still had the same problem.

At that point I had spent 2 1/2 hours on this so I decided enough already. I did the Acronis restore. So now it is finally gone.

Thank you vger for your time, for so quickly responding to my request for help, and for trying to help me. I truly appreciate it very much!
