Hello and thanks for allowing my presence.

I never knew this forum existed until I was trying to chase down some annoyance. I'm happy it's here. Reading through threads has started to take some of the dust off my brain cells. I don't have a super strong background with computers, but I used to dabble a lot. I broke enough stuff way back when to learn what not to do. Then, I took a few years of tech sabbatical. When I dove back into the swamp, I learned that my faithful XP system was no longer supported (what the hell is up with that?), my Vista laptop still sucked as much as ever, I totally missed Windows 7 and 8, and I got slammed in the face with Win 10 when I needed a new laptop. I am still very uncomfortable with Win 10, so I have disabled just about everything I know that I safely can.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Apologies in advance for when I become the pest who just won't go away when I can't simply Google or Bing my way out of a mess.

Cheers,

G.A.B.
