Solved Have lost file pictures since the latest update. Possibly caused by clipchamp

Hello all. Microsoft kindly sneaked the latest update onto my kit which included Clipchamp. Since then I have lost the 'header pictures' as I call them on my files and all I'm left with is 'traffic cone' icons.

I am unable to rid my kit of Clipchamp and I do not wish to switch to Win 11 in order to remove it, as I have no need for its use.

Any ideas on how to retrieve my pictures would be a blessing. Thanking you all in advance, Ar fy hun.

Hello arfyhun,

Your only hope is if you have a Windows 10 system restore point that is before the update that you suspect caused the issue, simply uninstalling any such an update may well not return your computer back to the way that it was.

See MS info, last on the list here

Nice one Admin! I have my icons back!! I followed your instructions as I'd never enacted a system restore. I was given a list of dates even though I'd never set the date up myself. Went like a dream. Sadly Clipcrapper or what its name is is now missing from my kit.

Just waiting for M/Shyte to sneak it back again aaaaand then we'll start dancing once more...

Reading up on M/Shyte 11 it appears Clipcrapper can be removed but I think I'll believe that when pigs fly.

Of course the last update i R/Xd may have been corrupted but who knows.

Thank you very much for your swift reply to my plea for help Admin, top type!

Regards, ar fy hun.

Pleased to hear that we were able to help and thank you for letting us know that you no longer require assistance with this.

System restore points don`t always work but they cost nothing and a new one should always be created before installing any updates or changing system settings.

Fwiw, Clipchamp is a third party company and Microsoft partner, I`m not a MS fanboy but if Clipchamp has somehow gotten on your computer it did not come from a MS update and has been foisted on you by something else.
