sadly no fireworks, just not done on Australia Day(or in general), plus it's illegal and hard to source.
New Year Eve celebrations are about it, and each capital city has a river fire/sky fire sort of event.
 
Ah yes, those bogans and derros have some sort of black market link to Fyshwick.
Actually, now you mention it, I did see the Parra firworks on the news that night, quite a big event it looked like.
none here that I knew of in Brissy. (maybe I'm just too old now and out of the loop)
