Solved Half System Reserved Memory + Half Memory Speed

This has to be close to flogging a dead horse?

I'm not sure how this is a "flogging a dead horse" situation. As far as I'm concerned the RAM in my rig is running at half speed. I understand Speccy and CPU-Z, may say one thing, but my benchmarking software and Windows task manager says otherwise.

I am an automotive diagnostic technician. "TheDIagGuy" It's my job to ask why and then figure out why and how to fix it. To me, it is not normal for Windows task manager and userbenchmark to report my RAM as running at 800 MHz speed when on every other rig I own it reports my RAM as running at the doubled rate. On the unit I am typing on now, (a Macbook Pro with Bootcamp) the Windows task manager and userbenchmark both report my RAM as 1600 MHz not 800 MHz which is the non-doubled rate. See the screen shot. This is an example of a DDR3 1600 MHz rig showing 1600 MHz in the task manager. If no one has an explanation or a way to attack this issue, I understand. To me, it's not normal thus indicating a potential problem and I would like to correct it. I unfortunately lack the knowledge and skills to correct it on my own which is why I am here because you guys are awesome and have helped me a lot in the past.

If the RAM is shown to be running at the correct speed in the BIOS then it is, to confirm it, use and rely on CPU-Z, having done some research benchmark is said to be unreliable, see Toms thread here

Honestly, I really want to know why this is the only rig I own that is showing RAM at the single data rate speed in Windows task manager and userbenchmark. I know that there are some who say userbenchmark is inaccurate, but it has never been inaccurate for me and I have been using it for over a year now on over 30 rigs personally. In reference to that guy's post on Tom's I had a similar situation arise with another Ryzen build in a Dell Inspiron where userbenchmark was saying it was clocked at 2133 (it was 2400 RAM without XMP made for Ryzen systems in my case) and updating the BIOS fixed that issue all on it's own since that Dell doesn't use XMP.

I don't want to abuse your guys' time cause you guys are doing an awesome service for the PC community here, so with that being said, mark this thread solved since we now have dual channel working with full RAM capacity. I'm going to continue to mess with it, and if I am successful in getting Windows task manager and/or userbenchmark to show 1600 MHz I'll ask for the thread to be reopened so I can post what I did to accomplish this.

Thank you for your assistance yet again!
