I’m assuming it is the gpu at least, because I’ve no idea what it could be.

It started when I updated my driver and settings. After resetting I was about to get on Rust, but as soon as I logged into a server it immediately crashed. But not really? The displays had turned off into a sort of sleep mode. Then when I tried to reboot it showed the image below every time since that first time, there’s a 50/50 chance of me actually being able to get on, or I get shown the pixel error. And when I hop on rust or a heavy game it crashes to the sleep display. I have checked cables, wiring, cleaning, and other things but I can’t find a direct issue. Doesn’t seem to be overheating, because the fans are working fine, and the system has just been cleaned out. I don’t know what to do.

Friend told me it was a issue with the gpu, but doesn’t know what, so I’m gonna give my shot here. Any ideas on how to fix the error screen?

Make and model of Power supply unit

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Where did the drivers come form?
What program did you use to download them with?
What if you undid the update and went back to the previous version does the same thing happen?

Does this happen in Safe Mode?

Does this happen in a Clean Boot?

Speccy has locked me out of my computer. I am no longer able to use it. I’m such a idiot. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I don’t know what to do, im such a idiot.

That's not something Speccy can do.

Where did you get Speccy from?
What do you mean it has locked you out, what can't you do?
I got speccy from the link above. After safe resetting i decided to do a clean boot. When trying to log back in the password screen was replaced with a change pin. when clicked it would say that I needed a app on the store. both options did nothing. I’m assuming this was a Malicious attack, so I pulled the plug on the entire computer. I can’t enter my accounts ON ANY ACCOUNT. I don’t know if It was deliberate malware or what. Or if it’s something on my end. ( i also apologize for the ranting above. I tend to get easy panic attacks )

forget how this happened for now.

first step is to get back into your PC.
what is your OS?

start the PC and as soon as you see the Windows splash screen, hold in the power button to turn it off.
repeat this a few times and eventually it'll say "please wait" and bring you to the Advanced Startup Options menu.
choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Reset this PC > Keep my files.

not only should that fix up whatever has gone wrong, but it may also remove any programs that have been compromised.
once in, run some scans with Defender, and download MalwareBytes and do a scan with that.

As @Bruce has stated that there is no way that speccy could have locked your system.

Do not worry about it we fully understand and will do everything we can to find out what happened.

So I went back to a old backup version of my computer, but after getting on rust, the display crashed again. This time was more permanaent. I was given the blue screen of death with a error code of something like a important system was corrupted or something, and after trying to reset and repair, I just ended up having to reinstall windows. After reinstalling windows I tested out rust again, only for the displays to crash. i have no idea what the hell is going on. The drivers are directly from NVDIA, i used the program NVIDIA pre put on my pc. Im not exactly sure how to go back to a previous version. Also id be glad to give any info about my computer without downloading software.

did your fresh install work without RUST? Did your monitor work before rust was reinstalled?
try your gpu in a different PC with rust and see.
Reseat your Power to your GPU a few times, gpu might be starving for power

Nope. I can’t play any heavy games That require lots of memory I’m assuming. This includes stuff like ( Rust, GTA, SCP: Secret Lab, Etc) some games aren’t affected. I don’t have another pc. This is the only one I own. I’ll try to reset power to the GPU. It has worked in the past perfectly fine, but it started acting up in a serious way when my brother began to play on vr, it booted out of vacation simulator. i later tried rust, which lead me to trying to figure out what’s going wrong.

see what happens after you remove all references to the VR since that appears to be what is causing this.

In the mean time as a precaution backup on an external device any personal files that you do not wish to loose should a reinstall become necessary.

Do you have an update
Yes! Kinda…

So after i spend a weekend trouble shooting with drivers and bios and help from friends and trying everything from this forum, etc. I gave up because the issue was still occurring, so I waited in a 2 hour call to get to tech support with costco, which is where I bought the pc and got the warranty, after the call dragged for a hour I got transferred to hp which transferred me to omen which made me do some rewiring with the pc. Nothing worked, and in fact the pc ended up rebooting itself because the cmos checksum was in a error thing or something. So since it was in the warrant I got it repaired for free, but I’m not sure if it’s the original issue they’re fixing or the new issue, but whatever it is they should get it fixed back soon. It’s currently being repaired, so let’s hope that it works once I get it back.

Not a problem glad to hear that something is getting done even thought you had to sit on the phone for ever.

Think of it this way you could of been paying a repair shop for them to find out something you are getting free.

Marking the thread as pending for 2 weeks to hear back on what and that it works.
