Solved Front panel USB 3.0 stopped working as USB 3.0

Hi, please help if you can...... As the title says, my two front panel USB 3.0 slots stopped working as USB 3.0 overnight. Whichever USB flash I plug in (and I've tried two different) there is that pop up message "this device can work faster If you plug it in the SuperSpeed usb 3.0 etc...". I've reinstalled all USB drivers and still have the same problem. I've tried rear USB slots on the mobo and they work fine in USB 3.0 mode.

And the front panel message is not a false positive, I've run some tests, it is really slow:

The test for the same flash drive in a rear panel slot:

PC is Windows 7 Ultimate 64, mother board is Gigabyte GA-Z170X Gaming 7

any chance there was a recent Windows update? (but being Win7, that's unlikely)
you say you have reinstalled the USB3 drivers - from where - the original driver CD, the company website?
whichever one you have tried - try the other.
and for good measure, see if there is a BIOS update?

have you tried going back to a Restore Point where the USB3's were being recognised properly?
