Hello first pc build here and new to the forum. I’m currently building and I’m using the ASRock B450M pro 4. I’m installing case fans on it and I got 2 Bitspower Touchaqua Notos RGB 120mm from micro center. They have a 4 pin pwm connector for power and then a male and female 3 pin. The ASRock board is all 4 pin fan headers and has 2 4pin RGB led headers and only 1 3 pin addressable RGB header. Do I need to get a controller to make them both work? The female 3 pin on the fan has a blanked off area for a 4th pin but no hole to be able to slide it over a 4 pin header.

I haven't kept up with the RGB hardware so can't be much help.
I know you can connect 3pin fans to 4pin headers but you won't get the extra sensor functions.
I've also plugged 4pin fans into 3pin headers, with the same lose of extra functionality.

it sounds like you only need to plug the fans 4pin cable into any 4pin header on the mobo to get basic fan usage which will get your rig built but as to having addressable control of the RGB functions - that's where I've never kept up cause I've never sunk money down the avenue, having preferred to go for better performance or storage specs myself.
