Files accidentally copied from one folder to another. How can I find these files

Long story short, my mouse seems to be malfunctioning every so often meaning when I drag and drop an item, it sometimes goes crazy and will do random stuff like highlight an entire list of documents and just throws them into random folders without me actually moving the mouse over said folder.

I just noticed that 277 of my files were being "copied" from one folder to another. The progress bar was about 75% full so I quickly cancelled the job. The problem is I have no idea where it's copied these files to, nor what the files were. So I can't search for particular files as I have no idea what the files were named.

Is there anywhere the PC keeps a log of every action the user has done? I'm hoping I can find a log of some kind in order to find the folder all of these documents have been copied to. About 13gb has been taken up by this but I cannot find the folder.

No easy way
Try a program like Tree size free. Click on me
Next time Try pressing Ctrl and Z keys together.
But you need to do that before any other click or kb input.
Practice for future use.
Click on one file copy
open another folder
paste
File appears
Press Ctrl and Z key together
File should disappear.

Thanks but I've used tree size in the past and found the interface appalling bad and couldn't get any use out of it.

I use another app called WizTree that does the same thing, finds out what folders ae using the most drive space.

in File Explorer you could also search on Date Created as the destination folder of the copy command gets the date of the copy command.
in the Search box type datecreated:15/3/23 (obviously adjusting for your date format and date to search for)

I would suggest that you REMOVE that system for the network.

Check you attached devices in the network list for any device that is not supposed to be there.

Post in the Malware section for what you are describing that the network has been compromised.

Read the sticky notes and post in that section following their instruction.

No logs.

If you the name of one of the files you could attempt a search for that file and see if Windows finds it.

There is a program called Everything that is really good that I use. There is a portable version which I use so there is no install.
