Solved FILE EXPLORER window is blank & always searching

Suddenly, beginning around the holidays, my laptop has developed an issue where, when I open Fire Explorer directly (not from within another program like Chrome), the window opens to show the green "busy" bar at the top, and no info whatsoever below (see attached image). I've given it DAYS to finish and settle into normal use to no avail.

If I'm in Chrome, maybe on Facebook, and want to post a local photo file, a normal File Explorer window will open, and will be fully functional for just ONE file at a time (meaning I can't grab six photos at one time to upload or drag-n-drop to a different fold... just one file at a time. That is normal.

Any clue what is causing this?

If possible right click on start & choose powershell with admin & enter:
SFC /SCANNOW
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Can you access the internet To download the media creation tool? If yes would you be able to run the tool after download or does the problem prevent this?

RUSTYS: No change, thanks.

BASTET: Ran all three lines, completed successfully. Restarted FE, no change. Your question refers to a tool I know nothing of...? Thanks.

Okay, lots of restarts after the W10 Update, and somewhere in that process, FE is back to behaving properly.
I've downloaded the MCT and will create install media tomorrow.
Thanks for the help!
