Ethernet hardware not found, and more.

Hello.

After a simple restart I cant access internet anymore.
I start up in safe mode with network options and I get this message: tips cant be opened with the built in administratoraccout. Log in with a different account and try again. (Might be a little different, translated from Dutch).

Also I enabled sound in safe mode which is also suddenly disabled.

If I look at adapter settings its just an empty folder.
When I want to make a new connection it says that it cant find the hardware.

This is very strange to me, does anyone have a clue or does anyone need some specific information ?

All help would be most welcome.

Why I use safe mode is a different and long story, I think its irrelevant as it worked fine for a long time like this.

The last thing I did was trying to install a game, but the exe file wouldn't even open.. virus maybe ?

Greeting and welcome to the forum @Rhubarb.

1. You can try downloading the driver and reinstalled for the Ethernet.

2. Run a system restore to back to a date that the system was working properly.

Safe mode runs with only the drivers that are needed to run the system. You did make sure that you were running Safe Mode with Networking and not just Safe Mode?

Thank you.
And yes I have the right safe mode.
I make him start in safe mode with network checked in msconfig.
Sadly there is no point to return to, starting it up in normal mode is near impossible (30 reboots if im lucky).

In ehhmm.. apparaat beheer (applience manager, but a synonym of appliance) I can see the drivers, uninstalled them and restarted so it could reinstall them.

I suspect that I installed dodgy software that came from a seemingly trustworthy source.
Ive read that a virus can make it seem the hardware is missing while it abuses my internet.
Excuse my creative wording.

If this is the case, what can I do to get it back ?

Did you look into #2

Plus look at what Samuria has asked in post # 4

Like what?

Yes this is true and we do have a security team that can assist you on correcting that if there is any.

[Prework] Please Read Before Posting follow then once you have posted the all of logs the thread will be relocated to the Malware Removal section so they can assist you with getting it removed.
