Solved DVD/CD Drives

I have four drives connected to my PC. (3 DVD and 1CD)
Device Manager indicates that all four are working properly.
(Note sure if I have posted in right section?)

Just noticed that problem is also with "C" AND "G" DRIVES.

Please see attached screenshot, which explains my problem.

Hello roger hawke,

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

Speccy is detecting each device and also says that they are working.

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode to see if you can access the devices.

Have you installed any new software just previous to this happening, any Windows updates etc

Wonder if that`s the only coincidence or if also when this problem first arose.

To see if this is a Windows issue download then run the Windows All in One Repair (free) from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.

Did what you required - I must admit I did forget the part about unplugging PC and taking out battery. (Was this important?)
Are you expecting a report, if so where do I find it??

This is odd as it does not appear to be a Windows problem and at the same time SATA HDDs and optical drives are not normally affected by the same fault, unless it is motherboard related.

Have you tried inserting a disk into each of the optical drives to see if they work.

NB: I honestly wasn't aware of removing any battery.

It has gotten on your computer somehow and there is a high chance that it is the cause of your issues, see Facebook feedback here

Have deleted instances of TechUtilities using "Everything".
I am running the latest version of CCleaner (V5.38)
Still no change
What do you advise for the next step?
