Solved Does SecureAplus have a integral firewall?

Status
Not open for further replies.
I just downloaded SecureAplus on my new pc. I figured that I would give it a try but I don't see any info stating that it also has a firewall.

Do I need to download an additional firewall? If so any recommendations would be helpful

Thanks

I have never heard of SecureAplus, so my instincts don't trust it.

This antivirus is well trusted, I am the one who suggested it.

There is no need for an additional firewall, windows firewall is sufficient for the average home user. Especially with all that SecureAplus does already.

Bur as Jmarket says Tinywall is good, it is not a seperate firewall, rather it gives you more control over windows firewall. That would be my choice if I were going to install anything additional.

It's a home PC primaraly. A couple times per week I do log into my company's system and work from home.

I'd say you are fine with this setup, actually more than fine. If you wish then you can add a third party firewall. Just know that often times these firewalls will cause connection issues if configured wrong.

SecureAPlus will allow you to use another AV as well, since it is on the cloud. It will tell you if a AV isn't compatible.. I use win defender on mine with secure plus. Also do you use win 10. Just curious since you said you have voo doo installed.

Yes, I am now using windows 10 as it came with the new PC (not much choice on that one). I have heard a lot of people complain about win 10 but I am still feeling it out. I heard that MS was going to be skipping win 11 and going straight to win 12. I guess it's supposed to be more like win 7 but what the heck do I know.

My old PC that Malnutrition kindly helped me clean up is still on Vista but I will probably kick that one up to windows 7 in the near future.

The Voo Doo seems to be an AV in it's own right if I'm not mistaken.

TinyWall is not connecting for updates. I get a message stating that it's being blocked or their server could be down. I tried adding rules to TinyWall and Windows Firewall to allow connection but neither has worked.

I have run across an issue where TinyWall will just not run on some machines, as a matter of fact the one I am on now it will not run. My desktop it will run fine. I would not worry about it, just use another software. :)
