Hope this is right place to post this...

Am on a Dell laptop running Win Pro.64.. Using Firefox as default browser..
When I first got this I was running EX11 but several people and what I read was FF was a better browser so switched.. and agree...it ios better..but here is my question..

When I switched to FF a lot of my desktop icons changed to the FF icon and the ones with logo icons stayed the same...the other day I restarted my computer and most of the FF icons and some of the logo ones changed to a white icon with a small box with little icons...I have been trying to figure it out but to no avail...

Any help would be appreciated..

PS: great new look on website...

g'day hilton,

when some of your desktop icons changed when you first switched to FF was probably due to FF becoming your default browser and Windows changing the icon to FF for any internet shortcuts you had on your desktop.

so if those icons have changed again, some culprits may be.... your default web browser as changed away from FF, or have you run any maintenance programs, like CCleaner that can sometimes screw with the icon cache.

what is your FF version?
what is your default web browser?
what has changed recently? OS update?, FF update?

thanks for the comeback...here is what you ask..

FF is still main browser
cCleaner and Malware Bytes
FF update
58,0,2 Ver

No big deal..was just wondering wht so many had the logo icon and then not,,

Thanks again for the help

but is FF set as the default browser in Windows?
when you ran CC, did you do the registry cleaning part of it?
when you click on those changed desktop icons, do they still work?

perhaps include a screenshot of them.

if you took the offered backup of the registry before cleaning, re-merge it back into the registry to see if that helps.
do that by doubling clicking the .reg file that was saved into your Documents folder (by default).

but if they are working, I'd probably leave sleeping dogs lie.
you could manually recreate them if you like by clicking on Start, find your program, right click, Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)
