DELL OPTIPLEX 7020

I have a Dell Optiplex 7020 mini tower with Windows 10 but no monitor and want to turn it on, connect it to my HP Pavilion laptop. I have USB to USB cables and HDMI to VGA cables available. What do I have to do so I can have the ability to see and use the information contained in the Optiplex via using the laptop??

cannot be done.
all video ports on the laptop are 'video out', that is, signals go out to other devices, not inwards to its own screen.
monitors/screens are 'video in' by nature.
you will need a monitor for the Dell.

Some TV's do have a PC input that can be used which does not carry sound so there may be a input for that as well.

The other thing that was not mentioned was to make sure that it is on the corresponding channel for which ever port you use.
