Solved dell optiplex 7020 secondary drive

I have a Dell Optiplex 7020 running windows 10. If my desktop does a reboot my secondary drive (Hitachi HUA722020ALA331) is not seen/missing.
But if I shutdown/power down the desktop and power backup there is no issue with the secondary drive. There is no errors reported on the drive,
windows 10 has updates. I checked the driver on the disk drive under device manager in windows and on the Dell website. In device manager the driver
version for the disk drive is 10.0.19041.789. After a reboot, If I look in device manager the hard drive is not listed, but if I look after a power down and power up
the drive is now listed and everything works fine until the next reboot.

Could be a loose connection rather than being driver related.

How long have you been using the Hitachi in the computer, the Dell specs here state the below which suggests that the Hitachi HDD has been retro fitted;

Hard Disk Drives: up to 1TB; Supports Hybrid and Solid State Drive
No Hard Drive – Supports Dell Cloud Desktop diskless option

We should check the health of the drive,

Download and run CrystalDisk info standard edition from here

I purchased the desktop in June 2020 the drive was already installed. I started noticing the issue after a reboot when running windows update.
I didn't start really looking into the issue until recently. the disk drive scan is attached.

Thanks

The issue is res;oved by powering down the desktop and after a power up the dis drive shows no issue and no errors are reported

Pleased for you but that is somewhat odd :unsure:

We will mark your thread as being solved but should you need to reopen it let one of us know.

NB: Run CrystalDisk again to see if you still get the caution, this if only for your own peace of mind.
