Hey!
Been getting crashes in all games i've tried. Some games reports it in a error log that "D3D device has been lost".
Games that I'm playing that also crashes: WoW Classic, Borderlands 3, Fortnite and Spyro.
Any and all advice would be very much appreciated!
Things I've tried: Updating my graphic drivers to the latest drivers (GeForce 436.30). Since this didn't help I did a complete uninstall of it and installed a older version without any success.

Welcome to PCHF Rad_Gaming,

If the computer is a desktop can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Hello phillpower2!
Thanks for your quick reply. I'm really terrible when it comes to fixing advanced computer issues but I'll try to follow you along. It's a desktop and alot of the parts are of the brand "Corsair". I didn't manage to find the PSU Im afraid.
Here's the Speccy profile: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/olKMMQTcbclLmwrETFwuf2v
Best of luck <3

Hello Rad_Gaming,

We need to know the brand and model name or number of the PSU I`m afraid.

Has any of your hardware ever been overclocked.

Couple of things sowing in Speccy that may or may not be causing the issue, regardless they need to be sorted.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: Razer Cortex Power Plan This is known to cause crashes, see example thread here change the setting to Balanced in the Windows Power Plan.

Running: Malwarebytes Service This is known to cause high CPU and RAM usage (see below) Malwarebytes removal info here

2019-09-13 NVIDIA - Display - 10/27/2017 12:00:00 AM - 23.21.13.8813
NVIDIA Display driver update released in October 2017
Windows has updated your video drivers, see explanation below for why this is not a good idea;

Once Windows has been installed, you install the necessary drivers for the MB and other hardware and then leave well alone, drivers should not be allowed to auto update and you should never update any driver/s unless the new drivers are intended to resolve a specific issue that you are having, installing new drivers unnecessarily can actually cause you the very issues that any new drivers are intended to resolve and uninstalling the new drivers may not resolve the problem/s that installing the new drivers has caused.

Depending on priority it can take many months before the driver provider releases any fix and they sometimes do not even bother.

RivaTuner Not sure why folk use such things but first thing that you should do when having stability issues is get rid of anything that promises to "tweak" things, beta versions are particularly bad at causing users grief.

Physical Memory
Memory Usage: 36 %
Your computer should not be using anywhere near this amount of RAM when it is not under any load, as mentioned above, the Malwarebytes software is known to cause such issues.

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #0, Partition #1
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: A2C08191
Size: 111 GB
Used Space: 84 GB (76%)
Free Space: 26,5 GB (24%) Your SSD is too small for Windows to be on, see explanation below for as to why;

Partition 0
Partition ID: Disk #1, Partition #0
Disk Letter: D:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: B6D944D8
Size: 931 GB
Used Space: 841 GB (90%)
Free Space: 90 GB (10%) See below;

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25% minimum.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help any and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.

Hi again and thanks for a very extensive answer. The PSU should be of 650w.
I've actually had issues with Razers apps in the past so I disabled it instantly! With that I've also changed the power plan to another one than the Boosted Cortex one.
Been clearing up space on both drives. C:/ now has 25.4% and I should be able to keep it there. D:/ has 20,7% now.
If none of this works, I'll reinstall windows and I'll see if I can have it installed on the D:/-drive instead as you recommended.
Now to do some testing :)
Thanks!

No success yet in solving the issue.
Dunno if this will help but adding to the crashes, I've been getting this error from the Borderlands 3-crashes. I think it might be related.

Crash in runnable thread TaskGraphThreadBP 12

Hello Rad_Gaming,

If me I would look to be getting a larger storage capacity SSD just for Windows rather than run it from a mechanical HDD.

The cause of the Borderlands crash is a bug in the game itself which is something that we cannot help with, only the provider of the game can do that, one of the first things that they normally suggest is clean reinstalling the game.

You are welcome btw :)

Hi again!
No changes, I'm afraid. This weekend I'll be reinstalling Windows completly to see if that helps. I feel confident that it will but it's a sad solution on a weird problem.
Thanks for all the attempts to help though!

Thanks for the update Rad_Gaming (y)

Before you clean install, save the drivers for the MB to a USB thumbdrive, clean install Windows, starting with the chipset drivers first - install the drivers for the MB.

Please make sure that Windows does not download/install any drivers for you and especially not for the GPU, Windows 10 in particular has form for installing the wrong and or unstable drivers.
