Solved Cursor making shapes on desktop and won't activate anything by clicking.

Hi. Thanks for having me. I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad with Windows 7 Pro, and my issue is that my cursor -- when moved around -- makes / drags shapes on the desktop. It's similar to what happens when you are cropping a photo, and the cursor draws a frame around the selected area. It also won't click on anything, or at least nothing happens when I click. I've tried various recovery options from Startup, but nothing is working so far.

Many thanks for any help.

Steve.

restart Windows in to Safe Mode and see if it still happens.
Thanks, Bruce. I've figured it out now. The left-hand clicker below the touchpad was stuck in slightly, so it was permanently clicked! I've managed to unstick it now, and sprayed a load of switch cleaner in there, and it's working okay. Must have got some dirt in there or something. Cheers.
