Hello, My computer stops recognizing controllers after only a few minutes of being used.

I have tried multiple (like 8) different controllers on every single usb port on my computer. Tried multiple wires. All have the same result, being losing connection after a few minutes. The only way to get it to work again is to restart my computer for the same thing to happen everytime.

I have tried both official and unofficial controllers as well as wired and wireless. It has been an ongoing issue for months and I cannot play any game that requires controller because of it.

I’ve checked drivers are up to date. I have no idea of the issue. The only 2 things I *think* happened around the time it started was I swapped in upgraded ram and a Nvidia driver update. But that was a long time ago.

Welcome to PCHF,

That sounds like either a driver issue or a problem with the USB ports losing power, have you checked the power settings for the USB ports, see example guide here for how to make sure that the setting is set to Disabled.

If the above does not help let us know and we will look elsewhere.

So I tried this out yesterday and I didn’t have any disconnect all day while using it. I dont want to jinx anything by saying its fixed but so far so good and thank you very much.

You are welcome and thanks for letting us know 👍

We will leave your thread open over the weekend just in case and if we don`t hear back from you we will consider the issue resolved.
