Controller won’t work on my PC

I have connected my PS4 controller via Bluetooth but I will try my best to sort this out.

Is the xBox controller wired or Bluetooth? If Bluetooth does it require a USB dongle?
Is there any error message? What exactly isn’t working?
Is the game from the MS game store, Steam or on discs? Is the game pc compatible with the new pc’s OS?

I would try connecting the controller via cable then setting it up using Bluetooth.

if memory is correct, I thought we had one of these issues a while back, and you discovered that the controller had to be connected via cable first, and the hardware installed, before it would recognise it as bluetooth.

but hey, as I say, that's purely from memory! :)
