Hello, Im having troubles with my computer. It is from iBUYPOWER. It turns on and the fans start to go and it seems on but it doesn't connect to the monitor. I tried taking the RAM out but it didn't work. I know nothing about computers and would like some help. What type of info would you need??

Please go HERE and download the portable version of Speccy. Save it to somewhere you can find, locate the file and as it comes as a Zip file use your favorite unzip application to decompress it. Open the newly created folder and double left click Speccy.exe if you have a 32 bit system or Speccy64.exe if yours is 64bit. If you are not sure what your system is click HERE.

Speccy will open and after a short wait will display a summary of your system specs.
  1. Click on the file menu.
  2. Then click Publish snapshot.

A dialogue box will ask you to confirm, select yes.

Another dialogue box will open
  1. Click Copy to Clipboard.
  2. Then click Close.

Now that your link has been copied please paste it into your next post. It should look something like the example below:)

BTW: once you have finished with speccy and no longer want it removing it is easy because it is a portable app with no install. Simply delete the downloaded file and folder you created when you decompressed it. Gone:thumbsup:

I can't get on my computer at all. No monitor works with it

Do you have a link to the same model of computer that you purchased at iBUYPOWER, this may give us the specs that we need.

iBUYPOWER - Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - 120GB Solid State Drive + 1TB Hard Drive - This is what was on the amazon title I bought it from. I tried clicking on it but it says the product is no longer available.

If yes then there is an onboard video option, if you are wanting to troubleshoot this yourself you must be very careful, damage anything and you have voided your warranty.

The guide here shows how to install a video card so removing one is the reverse of the procedure, just be sure to do everything safely and disconnect the tower from the power outlet.

Before doing anything, can you tell us the brand and model name or number of the screen that you cannot get a signal on, is the screen 100% in working condition, do you have another screen that you can try first.

Yes I bought a new monitor just to make sure it wasn't that. It connects to my xbox just fine. I have a hp , my new monitor, monitor and a dell , my old one, monitor.

I did ask for the brand and model name or number of the screen;

Without knowing what type of ports are available on any of your monitors we cannot advise you which port to connect to on either the video card or the ports on the motherboard, we understand that computer issues can be frustrating but not providing the requested information makes it difficult to be able to best advise you.

The info that I am finding says that the MB is an ASUS H170-Pro, you can confirm and check this by comparing your board with the board here

The board has three different types of video port 1 x DVI-D, 1 x D-Sub and 1 x HDMI, your GTX 1060 add on video card has two of the three types of connection, 1 x DVI-D, and 1 x HDMI, in addition to these two types your add on video card also has the display ports type connections available, you can see now why we need to know what video ports you have available on each of the screens that you have tried.
