Hello!!

I just need some help regarding a problem with my Hp Folio Elitebook 9470m. I already replaced my old(stock) Cmos battery with New Cmos battery and also the same with the main battery I already did replaced it with new main battery. But the problem is still "Cmos checksum invalid" and my laptop won't charge. Can somebody/anyone please help?? I'm already frustrated about my laptop. Thanks in advance and looking forward for any help and advice.

Welcome to PCHF Yonduu,

Couple of things can cause this, a dead CMOS battery, a bad BIOS chip and a failed BIOS update.

1: You have replaced the CMOS battery but are you sure that the replacement battery was good, you can test them with a multi meter.

2: If the BIOS chip is bad there is nothing that you can do about it,a new chip would be required and the cost of having this done would be more than what the computer is worth.

3: A failed BIOS update you would know about because you would of had to have initiated the update and therefore well aware that it had gone wrong.

In layman's terms, if the CMOS battery turns out to be good and you have not tried updating the BIOS only for it to go wrong then you are left with #2 I`m afraid.

Long shot but try recovering the BIOS "how to" here
