Clone HDs

I was employed by IBM 1966-2002 Being retired it has been hard keeping up. My computes have a removable drive to back up fixed. I use either Ghost or EZGIG II to backup main drive. I would slide in removable tray, boot on either program from CD, and away I we went. I also could clone to larger drive as necessary. I am still running XP. I am in the process of updating all my machines. Is there any clone program similar? I have a copy Clonezilla. When I cloned a 250 drive to a 500 it made to 500 into a 250.

Is there any program that would work from a CD like Ghost or EZGIG II??

Thanks in advance Paul

hopefully when you dug deeper into the 500GB drive that was made into a 250GB unit, the missing space was still there, just in a raw partition at the end of the drive.

Macrium Reflect, a common, free, modern drive cloning software does the same thing when cloning a small drive to thew larger one.
give it a spin and see if you like it.

don't know of any CD based programs that do cloning.
