Technically, Novabench isn't for use on Windows XP machines, but I benchmarked one of my newer XP machines (2008) about a year ago and it was able to upload the benchmark results file just fine, plus the current version on Novabench was released in 2011 (though Nathan, founder of Novawave, is working on the new version). Anyway, I've tested both of my Inspiron 8000 machines with Novabench (both running XP SP3, just like the XP machine that was able to upload its file just fine) and while the test finished just fine, I was unable to upload the score to Novabench's database. I'll hit the "compare these results online" button, and rather than being all happy and opening up my results on Novabench.com, it shows this:
NB vs XP.png

I do have an otherwise working wireless connection through a WiFi PC card, and if you're going to recommend uploading the file from another computer, it uploads the test with all the correct scores for the components, but it'll display the components of the computer that you uploaded it from. Here is a visual:
  • What you get when you open the .nbr file (correct components & scores, notice Pentium III and ATI video card ;)
Dell I8000.png

  • What you get when you upload it (I'm uploading it from my current laptop):
NB vs XP 2.png

Obviously, those aren't the components in the Dell Inspiron 8000, and my current laptop gets better scores on the components than that, haha.

Would anyone have a solution to this/know how to upload it? I just find it really weird that I was able to upload a result from another XP machine just fine but this won't budge.

It is not for me to divert members to different sites, however the main purpose of this forum remains to provide assistance and I think that this is the best way to do it:
Here https://novabench.com/forums/ I believe that you should get the information you ask for.
I've tried that, trust me. Nathan just talks about how it's "insecure and unsupported"

Well, crap.
I just got the Precision M90 up and running again and tried to submit a NovaBench file, but it's looking like Nathan over at Novabench did something to the server that absolutely blocks NB files from Windows XP machines. That really sucks. However, I can still use PCHelpForum on the M90, as I am right now! :)

I just did some hardcore (not really) investigation, and found out that you can still upload NB result files from the also unsupported and outdated Windows Vista. Check out the forum discussion on Novabench forums that I posted above...

I have said it i the past, I will say it again:
Those who administer sites should (ought to..) inform users when they apply any changes, especially when those changes affect specific part of their clients.

You shouldn't be spending your time looking for a solution.

Copied from Nathons post
XP doesn't support the .NET framework version used in Novabench 3. Windows 7 will be the minimum supported version for Novabench 4.
I understand wanting to submit scores on older systems, but dropping support for older Windows is a technical tradeoff I have to make
Here is the next question you should ask is what version of .NET framework does work with it?

Nick check you installed programs and let us know what version you have installed.

I checked on the .net framework version of the laptop with XP that could upload NB files (it can't upload them anymore, I get the same message) and it looks like I have version 4...

You have the latest version of .NET framework that is for XP which is Version 4.

Most places are doing away with anything to do with XP and plan on the same thing happening with Vista. Granted there are still lots of people that still use XP (Me). unfortunately it is their choice what they want to support no matter what we want or think.

Had to play devils advocate.

Do not know if you have tried it or not try an older version of the software and see if that can do it.
