Today I attempted to create a DVD Photo Slideshow (Anvsoft software)

Some time during the burning operation a BSOD appeared.

I have attached the minidump file that was created (Hope this is OK?)

A couple of weeks ago I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7.
I also reinstalled the programs I was running before, certainly nothing additional.

have you tried the process again in case it was just a one-off bad hair day sort of thing?
anything special about the DVD, scratched? protected? rewriteable?
did you get the software from the company website?
trial or purchased? if trial, is there any limitations?

Bruce,
Thanks for response.

I posted after I tried for the second time (with Avast disabled, just in case).
Software I purchased several years ago - don't recall having problems.
Can't be sure if the process actually got to the burning phase (it goes through several processes before burning i.e, encoding/caching etc.)
Disks look fine.

any access to another PC and/or another DVD unit that you could try the process on?
have you checked their website for any latest versions to the software?
you could try uninstalling/reinstalling the program (long shot).

Bruce/Gus,

Thanks for responses.

Bruce - No access to any other PC.

Gus - Have use the same software many times on same PC.

Could overheating possibly cause the problem? This was done in quite hot conditions.
The process for this particular photoshow takes about 2.5 hours (encoding/caching etc. and then burning).
(540 photos with music tracks).
Certainly would be interested to see if the dump file pointed to anything.

Gus - How's the grandson?

Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop. Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When the program opens select the following boxes:

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Please post the log in your next reply :)

Please go HERE and download the portable version of Speccy. Save it to somewhere you can find, locate the file and as it comes as a Zip file use your favorite unzip application to decompress it. Open the newly created folder and double left click Speccy.exe if you have a 32 bit system or Speccy64.exe if yours is 64bit. If you are not sure what your system is click HERE.

Speccy will open and after a short wait will display a summary of your system specs.
  1. Click on the file menu.
  2. Then click Publish snapshot.

A dialogue box will ask you to confirm, select yes.

Another dialogue box will open
  1. Click Copy to Clipboard.
  2. Then click Close.

Now that your link has been copied please paste it into your next post. It should look something like the example below:)

http://speccy.piriform.com/results/6waAHapcLrZIVPakgxXXXXXXX

BTW: once you have finished with speccy and no longer want it removing it is easy because it is a portable app with no install. Simply delete the downloaded file and folder you created when you decompressed it. Gone:thumbsup:

Edited due to missing pics.

This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0xA48A0)
Bugcheck code: 0x101 (0x61, 0x0, 0xFFFFF880009E7180, 0x1)
Error: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT
You have the exact same BugCheck code everytime.

Let's start with stress testing to rule out possible Hardware Failure. Let's start with Memory Diagnostics.

  • Click Start, type mdsched.exe in the Search box, and then press Enter.
  • Choose whether to restart the computer and run the tool immediately or schedule the tool to run at the next restart.
  • Windows Memory Diagnostics runs automatically after the computer restarts and performs a standard memory test automatically. If you want to perform fewer or more tests, press F1, use the Up and Down arrow keys to set the Test Mix as Basic, Standard, or Extended, and then press F10 to apply the desired settings and resume testing.
  • When testing is completed, the computer restarts automatically. You’ll see the test results when you log on.
Let us know if it completes successfully or encounters errors/produces a log :)

So now that your RAM is OK, let's go ahead and test the GPU.

Go ahead and download FurMark. Once installed, run it and let it run for about 30 minutes. If no crashing, BSOD's, or freezing occur, your GPU is OK.

Once we do that, we'll test your HD and your CPU.

Awesome :) We're narrowing down possible issues :)

  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press Enter.

    Code:
    sfc /scannow
  • Wait for this to finish before you continue
  • Copy and paste the following command, press Enter.

    Code:
    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt
That will create sfc.txt on your Desktop. Please attach sfc.txt to your next post:
  • Go to the end of your text (if any).
  • Under 'Attach Files' click 'Choose Files..'
  • For 'File name' paste this: %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt
  • Click the 'Add to Post' link which will appear on the right when the file has been uploaded.
  • Click 'Add Reply'.
After you do that, run CHKDSK for us :) Run:

Code:
chkdsk /f
in Command Prompt and let us know if it finds issues :) If it does we'll have to run some tests on the HD.

jmarket,

Carried out sfc /scannow as requested - please see attached report.

Ran CHKDSK as requested - no report produced (that I could see). If there is one please let me know where to find it and how to upload it, if required!!

Apologies, but I was expecting a response from jmarket, to my last post.
Just to let you know I will be away from 29 July until 24 August, so won't be able to respond during that period.
